ABOUT US

Marion Callahan - Possibilica is a constantly changing and ever newly emerging learning environment in which the principles love, clarity, joy, community, discovery, service, beauty and learning come to life. Whatever works in terms of sustainability will be documented and further developed and delivered to others. In particular and important ways the context of Possibilica differs from the context of modern society that each of us knows from childhood.
I think I understand now that home is not the physical place I grew up in. Home is the true, honest contact between people. Even though I can’t really imagine how the practical life in next culture will be and even though I am a little afraid of it, I am confident that I will have the main thing I need for life – my home – in Possibilica.

Clinton Callahan - For me the original impulse to build an ark and empower other arkbuilders was the sudden pending collapse of modern civilization from lack of oil and increasing climate disasters. Yet here I am, two years after my first impulse; things have only gotten worse in the disaster domain, yet the disasters don’t motivate me anymore. I am attracted by Possibilica rather than repelled by modern civilization. What inspires me about Possibilica is taking radical responsibility for creating next culture. My whole life has been a preparation for exactly this. I am not skilled at disrupting present systems. I am skilled at inventing new systems that make the dominant systems irrelevant. As a next-culture soft-skills research and training center, Possibilica is where I put my skills to work.

Margriet Houben - In addition Possibilica is about establishing and researching a culture of true adults, being radically responsibility for all deeds and human interactions. Taking such a high level of responsibility is possible because members have cleared their wounds and accumulated feelings. They keep resolving themselves deeper and further for the rest of their lives and learn how to deal with the feedback of other group members in an open way and without the reflex of being offended.
Of course Possibilica is also an ecovillage, where a motley group of people with all kinds of different spiritual backgrounds live self-sufficiently on a wide territory disconnected from the municipal water, grey water and energy supply systems. The wish is to make our human footprint as small as possible.
An area where such work is being done naturally attracts many people who experience impulses through seminars and living together for a period of time and who can then let these impulses become fruitful somewhere else.

Sonia Willaredt - Possibilica is a place where people interested in personal and spiritual growth live self-sufficiently in a sustainable way, while being actively involved in a vivid exchange with their environment. This ecovillage researches and delivers ways of perceiving and behaving that align human community with the Earth and all her beings and creatures, thus leading to higher life quality and more joy of life.
This project develops and establishes a new culture in which the being of a person has a higher value than their doing or having.

Tassilo Willaredt - Possibilica is the seed of a tree which will bear many fruits.
Possibilica is an experimental space for respectfully and responsibly interacting with the planet, which is understood as both a living being and our spaceship for travelling through the universe.
